Disk Space (Storage
Space)
The amount of included space on the servers harddrive where
you can store your files. 1GB of storage will hold thousands
of images or webpages.
Bandwidth (Data Transfer)
Every time someone visits your website data is transferred.
The data includes images, files, page data and everything else
you see when you view a website. The average website will never
come close to the amount of bandwidth we provide on each package.
Monthly Price
SharkSpace accepts all major credit and debit cards (Visa,
MasterCard, American Express, Discovery, etc.) and Paypal.
Yearly Payment
Pay for a year at one time and receive a discounted price.
The price shown is the monthly price when you take the yearly

Domains
Host unlimited domains within one account! The domains will
be separate websites and use real domain names (ex. yourdomain.com).
Parked Domains
Park unlimited domains on a single account. Domain parking
allows you to place a domain (ex. domain1.com) on top of another
domain (ex. domain2.com). Then all traffic to the parked domain
(domain1.com) will go directly to the domain its parked on (domain2.com).

Backups
SharkSpace backs up your complete website (files, emails, databases,
etc.) daily using SharkSpace innovative backup
technology. No longer will you have to deal with an overloaded
server during backup times. The SharkSpace backup system creates
very little load on the server allowing your site to load very
quickly 24/7/365.
Not only do we take daily backups, but we also keep a weekly
remote backup of your complete website. This backup is stored
on a remote server in a remote data center several thousand
miles away from our shared hosting servers. This adds an extra
layer of protection from natural disasters (fires, explosions,
earth quakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, etc.).
Raid-1 File Storage
Raid-1 storage is a storage system to mirror data between two
harddrives to help prevent extended downtime from harddrive
failures. When one drive fails the other will take over and
your sites will remain online.
Email Address
Create unlimited email accounts that include your domain name.
(Example: john@yourdomain.com) This is a key feature to make
your business look professional with your own personalized email
addresses.
POP
Short for Post Office Protocol, a protocol used to retrieve
e-mail from a mail server. Most e-mail applications (sometimes
called an e-mail client) use the POP protocol. In basic terms
this allows you to download email from your SharkSpace account
to your email program (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.).
IMAP
(Internet Message Access Protocol) IMAP is gradually replacing
POP as the main protocol used by email clients in communicating
with email servers. Using IMAP an email client program can not
only retrieve email but can also manipulate message stored on
the server, without having to actually retrieve the messages.
So messages can be deleted, have their status changed, multiple
mail boxes can be managed, etc.
SMTP
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol is a protocol used to send and
receive email.
Web Based Email Access
You can access your email online using yourdomain.com/webmail
Not only can you read your email online, but you can use the
email client (RoundCube, SquirrelMail or Horde) to completly
manage your inbox.

Spam Filtering
SharkSpace uses several spam prevention techniques to help
keep your inbox free from spam. We deploy several spam RBL lists
including zen.spamhaus.org amd bl.spamcop.net. SharkSpace also
includes SpamAssassin which does e-mail spam filtering based
on content-matching rules, which also supports DNS-based, checksum-based
and statistical filtering, supported by external programs and
online databases.
Anti-Virus Email Protection
SharkSpace provides anti-virus scanning for your files and
emails.
Announcement Lists
These are email lists that you can allow visitors to your site
to subscribe to through a simple HTML form placed on your site.
You can then periodically email everyone on the list things
like newsletters or announcements.
Email Forwarders
An email forwarder allows you to forward email from one email
address to another email address. This becomes very important
when you have multiple email accounts, but only want to check
one. In that situation you can forward all email to a single
email address.
Email Auto Responders
Set up email auto responders to reply to emails based on specific
conditions you select. Example you can have all email to a certain
email address automatically reply to the sender saying you are
on vaction and will reply when you return home.
Online Database Management
Manage every aspect of your databases online using phpmyadmin.
Phpmyadmin is a popular, powerful web-based interface for administering
MySQL databases. It is open source, written in PHP, and is among
the better tools available for working with MySQL databases.

FTP Manager

Subdomains can point to your main website or to subdirectories
of your main site. Subdomains have full email and web statistics
functionality.
Password Protected Directories
You can password protect any folder you create and no one will
be able to access it without the correct username and password.
SSL Secure Website Access
SharkSpace allows you to use any SSL certificate on your account

Awstats is a very advanced statistics program. See

Access & Referrer Logs
The raw access logs will show you all visitors that have accessed
your site. Referrer logs allow you to see where your website
traffic is coming from.
Error Logs
Error logs allow you to monitor your website to make sure everything
is working correctly.
Customizable Error Pages
Create and use your own error pages. No longer do you have
to settle for those horrible looking error pages provided by
other hosts. Example: If someone accesses a file that does not
exist on your account you can load an error page that you designed.

Server Side Includes
Server Side Includes (SSI) is an easy server-side scripting
language. Its primary use is to include the contents of a file
into another file.
Cron
A cron is normally used to schedule a job that is executed
periodically. Example a script you use on your website requires
a file to be executed daily to generate invoices. You can setup
a cron to do this automatically for you.
FrontPage
Upload your website to SharkSpace using your FrontPage application.
ImageMagick
ImageMagick allows for the creation, modification and display
of bitmap images. It can read, convert and write images in a
large variety of formats. Images can be cropped, colors can
be changed, various effects can be applied, images can be rotated
and combined, and text, lines, polygons, ellipses and Bézier
curves can be added to images and stretched and rotated.
GD
GD is an open source code library for the dynamic creation
of images. It is very similar to ImageMagick (details above).
SSH Access
Access your files securely using shell access. SSH access is
a must have for programmers.

Lighly Loaded, Powerful Servers
SharkSpace only uses top quality, powerful servers. SharkSpace
currently places new orders on Quad-Core Opteron servers with
4 GB of RAM and 9.6 ghz of processing power per server. Our
servers are not only powerful, but they are lightly loaded allowing
for extremely fast page loading times and excellent reliability.
SharkSpace places an extremely low amount of
sites per server. This is the key to reliability, because less
sites per server = better uptime. The probability of a server
crashing and you experiencing downtime is directly correlated
to the amount of sites per server. A good example of this in
non technical terms is if a highway has only a few cars driving
on it at one time it will run great at full speed, but when
you put too many cars on the highway it will slow down and a
traffic jam may occur. That traffic jam would be downtime in
server terms.

Whoever said changing web hosts was difficult? With SharkSpace
its easy. If your old host uses the Cpanel control panel and
allows the creation of "Full Backups" SharkSpace can
transfer your website right after you order. All you need to
do is open a support ticket and include your old host's IP address
(or your domain name if you haven't changed your name servers),
username and password. After your account is restored all you
will need to do is change your domain name servers to the ones
provided by SharkSpace in the welcome email and your site will
be working off SharkSpace servers.
